Mount Osceola on left, elevation is 4340, going to right..., Middle Peak Osceola, West Peak Osceola and Slide Scars are in view near the hair pin curve on the Kancamagus Highway (Route 112) above Lincoln New Hampshire. This is a striking mountain range with very steep terrain. These high mountains in New England were left alone by early settlers and used by loggers and trappers until the era of recreation. Today they are challenging for hikers and a paradise for photographers and painters like myself.
I did this on location off the Kancamagus Highway ( Rte 112) in New Hampshire at a stop marked for the Hancock Trailhead and finished in my studio.

Paradise for sure, beautifully painted Nancy. I love the movement and whimsy of the trees against the sweep and flow of the mountain shapes below the fluff and breeze of the colorful clouds complimented with the warm glow and brushy texture of the golden wildflowers. Absolutely Masterful.
Nancy Griswold replied:

Wonderfully done, Nancy. Love the hiker on the hillside. Probably would not find me that high up. LF

With the lone figure here I am especially at home as I sense and know the feeling of such a moment. Your painting brings out this special moment Nancy. F/L.

I like the variety of greens in the trees and mountains and the bright splash of gold in the foreground...the perfect complement. The hiker adds interest....beautifully done, Nancy!

Cool image Nancy, I know this place, love driving over the top, the weather always seems to change abruptly. L/F.

On location this work is and love hearing the story of it. I feel myself being the person waking along that mountain. We both seem to venture into works. This is a marvelous virtue to have. Yours are easy to do so with. F/L.
Nancy Griswold replied:
Thanks so much Randy, plein air and starting on location helps me to immerse myself into the elements and I love being outdoors when I can
