This post is for 5 x 7 cards, there is another image which shows only the painting here on my websites which does not include the title in the image. A 16" x 20" oil painting on stretched canvas I painted in the winter as I look out the window frequently. I wrote a poem for this as I painted:

“A Window Winter Land”

Looking out the window; (snowy that night).
I saw a winter land; (a wondrous sight).

The Snowman was smiling. The moon was big.
It lightened the landscape and snow on twigs.

Big snowflakes fell softly, from the dark sky
It roused out-of-worldly, feelings inside.

Heavy snow laden trees, bent down with weight.
I thought as observing, I must create.

Vintage books with prayers, gave reflections.
Of modern tech; I gave all rejection

The old became anew, in gilded books.
Ancestors spoke wisdom; and I was hooked.

Little mouse found the shelf and looked to see,
A doe standing still, under the tree.

A candle flame gave light, to more inside.
I just wanted to paint, see and hide.

Red flower in full bloom, inspired my awe.
The stamens had details; (challenged my draw).

The simple things matter, just look and see.
Our world is so shattered, but vision – free.

Looking out my window, turning off news
Gave me many options, to see and choose.

A reprieve so needed, to heal inside.
The power of refresh, letting love guide.
