Lake Willoughby in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Looking left from the road going around the lake in Westmore, Vermont; this is one of many photographs I now have in a gallery titled Lake Willoughby. It was a very hot day and was an exciting lightning and thunderstorm which passed over the ridge. Swimming was not so successful as the water was very cold but I stayed for a while to feel the fine and beautiful sand beneath my feet, it was similar to an ocean floor with white sand waves undulating beneath the shallow sections. The water was crystal clear. Just a beautiful place for restoration of the soul. More on this below
From Wikipedia:
Willoughby Lake is part of the Saint-François River watershed, its waters eventually reaching the St. Lawrence River in Canada. Willoughby River is the outlet from the lake and runs north through Brownington to feed into the Barton River. The Barton River is tributary to Lake Memphremagog and thence to the Magog River, then the Saint-François River, then the St. Lawrence River, and ultimately to the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
