I had to leave this location early due to weather difficulties and it was windy and very cold after 3 hours at this location. This started as a plein air study and then was completed in the warm confines of my workroom.

I stood outside the Highland Center in Crawford Notch and enjoyed the play of color and light upon the mountains and Depot this October. I did witness the very last train of the season come into this depot way up in the Mountains of New Hampshire.

The Crawford Notch depot train station was constructed in 1891. The Crawford Notch Hotel used to be nearby. This is off Route 302 which passes through the northern part of the White Mountain National Forest.. I am standing on the AMC grounds for this view of the Notch.
