Description
Marble Maidens of Maine was created from a close up photographs of a Marble Sculpture that was on display in the grounds of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in Ogunquit, Maine. This belongs to the series of photographic fine art titled Rock Gods and Nature Deities. I created this series over the years. The series has many images that have anthropomorphic suggestions that one will discover on close observation. This particular photograph used was dissected and reoriented many times to created a very detailed piece that convey feminine forms and suggestive shapes.
Rock Gods and Nature Deities: This series of fine art photography I began years ago when I first lived and hiked in the mountains of New Hampshire. I was always visually captivated with the rock formations and often saw figurative suggestions in the scenes I was looking at. When I began dissecting the photos, even more amazing figures appeared and often these lead me to more meditative thoughts about our world and the treasures simple observation holds.
