Description
This is a fond memory and composite of my solo 2008 Art Exhibition at the Jasper Rand Art Museum within the Westfield Athenaeum in Westfield, MA. This just shows one wall of three in this gallery I filled with my oil paintings and some of the glass showcases with artifacts of Native American objects.
My oil painting often reflects a sense of place or a subject I am studying. During this time I was enthralled with learning about historical crafts of Native Americans. I spent much time making labels and descriptions of each object so I could share my new knowledge with others.
I am usually happily astonished by the comments in the guest book for the shows I do after a month or two of exhibition time. Local newspapers have always helped with a draw of public and in this case I also had an opening. Sometimes scout troops have wandered through my shows at the Rand and I always enjoy sharing my educational pursuits.
Preparing for a large show is a lot of work and I have always had to do this with little or no assitance and my fine art while attending to other priorities and avenues of income making and living.

An admirable collection of art, where all the hard work, and the organization are so evident. Yes, Nancy, the incredible blood, sweat, and tears of the artist can never be imagined or repaid. Only one thing can take their place: the satisfaction over the extremely high quality of what is produced. L/F

Another fine example of your art history and experiences, Nancy ! I too, love it when visitors to a show that I am in, leave feedback or share their impressions regarding my work. Last December, I was humbled and honored to recieve a peopleβs choice, best in show award in Tubac, Arizona. It was the 47th annual Masters Mead Award. Your image here is very impressive. Thank you for sharing this with us!
