Description
This is a very fast sketch I did upon leaving a rental along the coast of Rhode Island. We were in Quonochontaug, Rhode Island for a week and this salt inlet pond from the ocean yielded large variety of seafood and shell seafood for our meals. My brother clamed and crabbed as well as fished to supply us. The sun was bright all week and the winds would rise and settle as the sun would. The sunsets were gorgeous. I loved this rental and had many fond memories there. My niece holds this painting now as my parents have passed and I gave it to them as a gift for letting us visit and vacation with them.

Nancy, this work remind me of landscape dreams I have had with this great expanse of land and sky seemingly going off into eternity. Wonderful work always. F/L.

Thanks Randy, beyond this pond lies the Atlantic ocean, I love looking at these inlets and thinking something lies beyond too

Wonderful memories to go with a wonderful painting, Nancy! :) It’s amazing I think seeing these early sketches how clearly your talent to modulate and blend colors beautifully is already on full show! l/f!
Nancy Griswold replied:
Thanks so much Felipe, I really DO love to paint. Outside is the very best experience
