This is on Route 106 in Reading Vermont heading into the distant village of Felchviille. The remote and authentic Vermont village has around 600 residents and farmland of old and new abuts the village. A very picturesque scene in the winter due to the historical architecture and scenic Vermont surroundings. Felchville Village is a part of the town of Reading, Vermont.
The Town of Reading was chartered in 1761, and first settled by Andrew Spear in about 1772. The Village of South Reading was first settled by Ebenezer Robinson in 1788. In 1827 William Felch began constructing the first of many houses he was to build in the area known as Felchville. Amoung the early industries were many woolen mills, a chair manufacturer, a map maker and the famous Budd Hawkins Seed Company, the 1812 house.
Another smaller 11 x 14 painting of this scene is in this gallery also.

This is an incredible and ambitious work Nancy! The vast array of blues leading the eye to those warm lights within is so inviting. Extremely well composed and masterfully painted. Another Winter Masterpiece!
Nancy Griswold replied:

The muted palette and the panoramic orientation of this masterpiece make it all the more appealing. Not only do I love the artwork, I thoroughly enjoy reading the history behind your paintings. This one is so quietly quaint, and I like the tiny it windows in a few of the homes. like/f
Nancy Griswold replied:
Anne, thank you so much for such a nice comment and note, so grateful for your l/f too.
