This is a part of a series I did of Stoneham Square in 1979. I painted this from my apartment on the second floor on Main street in Stoneham, Massachusetts. Two more from this series are posted in my gallery called Earlier Artworks. I was still studying oil painting at Massachusetts College of Art under George Nick, an American realist and enthralled with the works of Edward Hopper. Undoubtedly this influenced my work at this time.
This image was made from a slide I had in my archives as the original is now gone and I held only a slide in my archives.

Those violet-gray shadows and this ochre combination in contrast to the buildings really pops in this scene. Your dramatic viewpoint is a piece of magic here too. Wonderful Nancy. F/L.

Thank you so much, you make me want to work more with color again, this was a fast one and for the F/L !!!

So nice to just sit at the window and have good perspective present itself to paint. Love the blended earth tones. FAV
