The Swiftwater Covered Bridge is just east of the edge of the White Mountain National Forest in Bath, New Hampshire; a popular stop for visitors and locals in the summertime. This is an oil painting on linen I did at midday with the NH Plein Air painters group. I was thrilled the invited me to meet with them again. I love to do plein air painting. It is essential to me to be outdoors and working in the immediate surroundings of changing light and weather elements for part of my painting experience. This day was brutally hot and humid and our session was short, calling for fast decisions. I usually challenge myself with limitations; here I used flat large brushes and a very limited palette where I had to mix my greens and worked on a clear primed linen. I touched it up in my work area later using visual memory.
