This was mmy first painting I did at Massachusetts College of art. My first painting instructor was Katherine Porter and she traveled all the way down from Maine to teach our class. The was the daughter of Fairfield Porter a well known painter at the time. I was still deciding between printmaking and painting this year, which would be my major field of study. I loved both. During this class I was really allowed to physically work with the application of tone and paint as we broke slowly into the usage of color later.
Predigital era, I hold only a slide of this piece as reminder of this work. The painting is gone and the slide has to be scanned to make this image
