I painted this in in 1976 before art school. It is a large portrait of my brother Allen Griswold born January 18, 1945 – died May 7, 2017.He took me up with his flight instructor to do air acrobatics, full loops in the air when I was in my first years of college. He learned how to fly on a Piper Cub and later owned a Cessna, during his early years he had a great passion for flying.
This was a gift to him I made many years ago in 1976. He recently died and I received this painting back from his family. It will be donated to the Post Mills Airport Museum in Thetford Vermont for permanent display as the owner encourages experimental aircraft and meet with many who have the passion to fly and he has accepted this to be displayed in the large air and transportation museum on location.
