FARMER HODGES FARM IN FAIRLEE, VERMONT IN AUTUMN
The oil painting itself without title is the NEXT image
I painted this in two very warm afternoons at Farmer Hodges Farm, Rte 5, Fairlee, Vermont. It was an enriching time meeting the owners Mr. and Mrs. Hodges (both 90 yrs old, active and sharp). Priscilla, a devoted helper, was great company too.
The farm was built in the 1800’s by Mr. Hodges grandfather from Scotland. The family has been farming since 1846. The grandfather originally farmed sheep here and some cows too. Mr. Hodges the grandson (now 90 years old) was a seaman and went on a relief and goodwill ship to England called the USS Little Rock after WW2 ended.
