A couple from Edmonton Kentucky purchased this in 2012 for a family member as a gift.
This is an oil painting I did near Westfield, Massachusetts on a scenic back road with a swamp and bog area. The dead wood rose from the water with many interesting tree like shapes leaving reflections in the water. As we painted the scene, birds of all kinds were repeatedly returning to the water near us. I was painting with a group of oil painters on location yet finished this piece in my studio at home using visual memory of what I had seen. This is a fond memory of a connectedness with nature and others in an early autumn afternoon.
