I started this painting from the boat launch area and beach on Echo Lake, finished it on the easel. Across the lake on the left is a rock formation called Artist Bluff. Many artists have painted the view of Franconia Notch from top of that rock formation including Edward Hill in 1886. The day I painted we met many boaters enjoying sailing and rowing on this scenic, mirror-like lake. To the left of where I am standing is Cannon Mountain and we are looking at the far Northern part of Franconia Notch. Highway 93 is on the right.
