This oil painting was done on location at Beaver Brook in Barkhamsted, Connecticut. Beaver brook leads to Beaver Pond in Peoples State Forest. Beaver pond is the home of many beaver who create dams and mound houses. Many of the nearby fallen trees have points on the remainder of the trunks showing evidence of their mission. This brook is also the home to cardinal flowers which are bright red and a sight to see during their blooming time. Also the home of brook trout, red newts and salamanders.
