Morning Misty mountains is a 36" x 20" oil painting on hand-stretched canvas by Nancy Griswold.
I created this work during a period of time I was driving to work going north on Interstate Rte 93 to my job in Woodstock, New Hampshire during 1995. The morning mist seen from the highway was just beautiful to witness as the day began; especially in autumn. I could see fields of dried grasses blanketing the landscape before the mountain ranges seen off in the distance. The road paralleled the Pemigewasset River so the fog would hang around until the sun rose to burn it off.
This is done from memory and examination of this world as I rode to work.
The original work of art is framed in a cream colored metal canvas frame and can be seen for sale at:

Fantastic painting. This reminds me of when I was traveling for a previous job. There was an area in New York called 'the finger lakes'. There were times in the early morning when I would be driving through that region and would see the most amazing misty sights. No mountains... but very dramatic hills. This painting takes me back there. Awesome. Thank you for inspiring a wonderful trip down memory lane!
Nancy Griswold replied:
John, I went to the finger lakes once, a beautiful area also, thanks for the nice comment

I can feel myself being in this scene.
Nancy Griswold replied:
You might be there behind a bush Steve, I know you frequently shoot around this area

What a lovely moment captured. I love the fog as it hugs the tree tops and gives the mountains a mystical look! Wonderful painting, Nancy!
